This was a small KaMission I did for a client who wanted a piece about perfect timing and the illusion of chance. I couldn't have been more delighted with the concept, as this particular theme has played a huge role in how I navigate the world, and I'm sure many of you can relate.
Nothing is by accident.
Everything is destined.
As we all traverse this wild life, there is great freedom found within the awareness of (or the belief in) perfect timing. I have found that when I am in deep surrender to the universe, and all that it presents, I am in a greater state of flow with life and overall happiness. I am in touch with true prosperity.
There is a deeper sense of faith that I have developed when following my most compelling visions, or rather, when I allow myself to be propelled by them. I've been enjoying the art of not chasing after or reaching for my dreams these days, but instead making the small switch in my brain to come from my dreams, so as to eliminate any acts of desperation or over-efforting. Will it work out? Hopefully. Will the uncertainty of the outcome keep me from walking my path? Certainly not!
As we step out into the great beyond, where nothing exists yet, all the stones suddenly appear beneath our feet as we move forward. That's a creative life. It's like that path in The Labrynth, or The Lord of the Rings. You just have to trust, and solid ground will appear beneath you.
Sometimes we must sit back, and spend a moment to take in the grandeur of it all, to contemplate the possibilities. Sometimes we are taken aback by them, amazed by them, perplexed by them. But in the end, there is only one doorway to walk through at a time. Always a new way to go, yes. But only one fate that is your own.
As you ascend into the emptiness, there is a kind of peace that no one can teach you how to attain. At some point, all your philosophies are put to the test. You will be given the opportunity to try them out in real life, and actually experience them, or they forever float around in the mind.
To create one's own reality, new ideas must be tested.
To transcend what came before, you must put your theories into action.
Life is a series of wildly wonderful successes, intensely rich dilemmas, and everything in between.
And we're all taking it one step at a time.
Choose wisely, make some plans, and play them out to your heart's content, but don't carry the burden of the results on your shoulders. Don't carry the burden of the how either. If after praying on it, you still can't figure it out, flip a coin. Trust the oracle.
The Universe already knows where we're headed, so why not leave the hard stuff up to that greater wisdom? This is the great art of surrender to what it is, to act on the grace of the Beloved (or whatever you call it). It's a giant incomprehensible paradox! But if you can truly embrace it, you can feel the peace contained within it.
Over a lifetime, I am building the habit of embracing it all more and more.
Everything that is happening (or already happened) was meant to be, otherwise, it wouldn't be happening!
We must find equanimity throughout all of it. In calamity and good fortune.
If we don't, we are missing out on life!
Take that next step, and see what happens.
Follow the signs. Pivot where necessary.
We all end up exactly where we are meant to be, in perfect timing.
